Ingredients:
- Hojicha Latte:
- 2 tsp organic Japanese Hojicha powder
- 60ml warm filtered water (80°C / 176°F)
- ½ cup milk of choice
- Cold Foam:
- 1.5 tbsp heavy cream (whipping cream)
- 1.5 tbsp milk
- 1 tsp maple syrup
- Pinch of sea salt (plus more for decoration on top)
Instructions:
- Prepare the Hojicha Base:
- Heat 60ml of filtered water to 80°C / 176°F.
- Sift 2 teaspoons of Hojicha powder into a small bowl to prevent clumps.
- Add 30ml of warm water to the Hojicha powder and whisk in circular motions until a smooth paste forms.

- Set aside to cool
- Make the Cold Foam:

- Froth on low with an electric milk frother, increasing to high until it thickens. This may take a couple of minutes. If it’s not frothing, add more cream.
- Set aside while combining the remaining latte ingredients (below).
- Combine:
- Add ice to a glass, followed by milk of choice.
- Slowly pour in the hojicha, then top the drink with cold foam.
- Optional: sprinkle a bit of sea salt on top.
- Stir and Enjoy:
- Stir it all together for the perfect sip and enjoy!
