Instructions & Care:

First Use:

• Before using your Matcha whisk (Chasen) for the first time, soak the bristles in warm water for 5-10 minutes. This softens the bamboo and prepares the whisk for its initial use.

Preparation Before Every Use:

• Before each use, soak the bristles of your Matcha whisk in warm water for 1-2 minutes. This step prevents the bristles from breaking and ensures a smoother whisking experience.

Using the Whisk:

• Hold the whisk in one hand and the bowl in the other. Start by gently stirring the Matcha powder and water to dissolve any clumps.
• Whisk vigorously in a zigzag or “M” motion for 15-20 seconds until the Matcha is frothy and thick, with a smooth layer of foam on the surface.

After Use:

• Rinse your Matcha whisk under warm water immediately after use. Avoid using soap or harsh detergents, as these can damage the bamboo.
• Shake off excess water and place the whisk on a whisk holder (Kuse Naoshi) or let it air dry upright. Proper drying helps maintain the whisk’s shape and prolong its lifespan.
